China and Russia signed agreements in trade, investment, nuclear power, banking and other sectors following Tuesday's talks between the two nations' presidents, dpa reported. Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin oversaw the signing of a joint statement promising to expand the "strategic cooperation" between the countries. They also witnessed the signing of an agreement on the building of a Russian nuclear plant in China and on a Russian government loan to China, Russia's Itar-Tass news agency reported. Other deals included insurance for export loans, and pledges to promote tourism and industrial cooperation between the two governments.
