Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani has said a time limit should be set for the Joint UN-Arab League Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan's mission, in the shadow of the continued killings and violence by the Syrian regime. This came in a speech Sheikh Hamad gave at the opening of the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee on the Situation in Syria held here today. The Prime Minister said "We cannot accept the situation to continue as it is while the task of Kofi Annan going on." He also called on the international community to put Annan's six-point plan under Chapter 7 of the UN charter, expressing deep sorrow for the Houla massacre in which many innocent victims were killed. He hoped that the plight of Syria would come to an end as soon as possible, explaining that the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee aims to follow-up the saddening situation in Syria.
