The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called on the world community today to shoulder its responsibilities towards the deteriorating situations of human rights in Syria, reiterating its denunciation of the Houla massacre in which tens of innocents, including children, women and elders, were killed. Addressing the extraordinary meeting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Saudi ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva Dr. Abdulwahab Attar said Saudi Arabia has repeatedly stressed its keenness on the integrity of the Syrian territories as well as meeting the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people in reforms and progress and called for halting human rights violations and stopping violence and bloodshed but the Syrian authorities turned a deaf ear to our calls and opted to its security solutions which obviously lead to killings, torture and displacement of innocent people.
