Tropical Storm Beryl moved late Sunday over northern Florida near the Georgia state line, threatening coastal flooding and heavy rain, the National Hurricane Centre said. A tropical storm warning was in effect for the Atlantic coast in northern Florida, all of Georgia and into the southern part of South Carolina. Flooding was possible from a combination of storm surge and the tides with coastal flooding of 30 to 120 centimeters, the centre said. Waves could worsen damage from the storm surge. Rainfall was forecast at 10 to 20 centimeters over much of the area affected by the storm, according to a report of DPA.
