Preliminary early count in Egypt's first free presidential election showed that neither of candidates would win in the first round, making a run-off a most probable option on June 16-17. According to preliminary count in a number of Egyptian provinces, presidential candidate of the Freedom and Justice Party Mohammed Morse is leading, followed by General Ahmed Shafiq. However, a fierce run to catch the second place and compete with Morse is lead by Hamdeen Sabahy and Abdul- Moneim Abul-Fotouh. According to early reports, Amro Musa, the former Arab League Secretary General, will have a thin chance to do. Eight candidates: General Husam Khairullah, Abdul-Ez Al-Hariri, Chancellor Husham Al-Bastiwaisi, Mahmoud Husam, Dr. Mohammed Saleem Al-Awwa, Khalid Ali, Mohammed Fawzi, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Asha'al were confirmed out of the race.
