The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 48 people were killed Sunday, including 34 in an assault by regime forces on a village in central Hama province. In the south, troops arrested more than 20 people in Daraa province, the Observatory said. Meanwhile, Syrian forces resumed Monday shelling of the central province of Homs, killing at least one person and wounding more than 10 others, activists told dpa. "Heavy shelling has targeted the area of Al-Kussair and nearby regions," one of the activists said.
