year-old man shot and killed a dentist Sunday in Makkah after being allegedly mistreated Saturday for a toothache, authorities said. The man sneaked into the Arab dentist's private clinic in Batah Quraish with a concealed gun and shot him in his neck when he was attending another patient, according to authorities. Police rushed to the scene after the crime was reported and the alleged killer was quickly identified by the medical staff, who knew about his case and treatment on Saturday, officials said. Police gathered information from his medical records, launched a search for him and he was soon arrested nearby, officials added. “This dentist hurt my teeth. I can't even close my mouth,” the man shouted when the police arrested him. The dentist was taken to Noor Hospital, but he could not be saved, said Col. Abdulmohsin Al-Mayman, spokesman for the Makkah Police Department. The man wielded his gun at the medical staff and patients as he fled the scene, witnesses said. “He was short, fat, and wearing traditional Saudi headgear,” one witness described the killer. Patients said the dentist was a caring and loving person who had worked at the clinic for three years.
