ST. PETERSBURG, Florida: Matt Joyce scored from third on a wild pitch with two outs in the 10th inning to give the Tampa Bay Rays a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels in the American League Saturday. Joyce opened the 10th with a double off Fernando Rodney (0-1) and moved to third on a grounder. Rodney then threw a pitch into the dirt that eluded catcher Hank Conge and Joyce raced home. Tampa Bay's James Shields took a shutout into the ninth before giving up a double to Torii Hunter to open the inning. Hunter later scored to tie it and force extra innings. Joyce also homered for the Rays, who have won six of seven. Joel Peralta (1-0) took the win with a perfect 10th. Indians 3, Tigers 2, 13 innings: In Cleveland, Orlando Cabrera lined an RBI single in the 13th inning that gave Cleveland victory over Detroit and its 12th straight home win. The Indians extended their best home streak since 1996. Cabrera singled the winner to deep center with the bases loaded and one out. Tony Sipp (1-0) worked two scoreless innings to take the win for Cleveland, which won its fifth in a row and finished with its best April record ever at 18-8. Brayan Villareal (1-1) took the loss for the Tigers, who lost their fifth straight. Rangers 11, Athletics 2: In Oakland, Colby Lewis pitched eight strong innings to steer Texas to a big win over Oakland. Mariners 2, Red Sox 0: In Boston, Doug Fister (2-3) worked out of trouble three times in 5 2-3 scoreless innings to lead Seattle over Boston and to a fifth straight win. Royals 11, Twins 2: In Kansas City, Alex Gordon hit a three-run homer in an eight-run eighth inning that powered Kansas City over Minnesota. Orioles 6, White Sox 2: In Chicago, Robert Andino homered as Baltimore overcame slumping Chicago. Renteria lifts Reds Pinch-hitter Edgar Renteria singled with two outs in the 10th inning to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 4-3 comeback win over the Florida Marlins in the National League on Saturday. Marlins starter Josh Johnson left after seven innings, and reliever Randy Choate took over in the eighth with a 3-0 lead but Cincinnati scored three times to tie it. The Reds then loaded the bases with no outs in the 10th against rookie Michael Dunn (1-1). After a forceout and a pop up, Renteria singled into left field to win it. Francisco Cordero (1-0) worked two scoreless innings for the Reds. Phillies 2, Mets 1: In Philadelphia, Roy Halladay started the game by throwing 18 straight strikes and Philadelphia went on to set a club record with its 18th victory in April, beating New York. Halladay (4-1) allowed one run and walked only one while striking out eight to lead the Phillies to their third straight victory and a record better than the 17-5 April of 1993. The NL Cy Young award winner didn't toss a ball until the third inning. It was his seventh straight win over the Mets dating to the 2006 season. Mets starter Jonathon Niese (2-3) took the loss after Placido Polanco's sacrifice fly in the seventh broke a 1-1 tie. Cardinals 3, Braves 2: In Atlanta, Gerald Laird's ninth-inning triple capped a late rally to give St. Louis a win over Atlanta. Rockies 4, Pirates 1: In Denver, Jason Hammel shook off a leadoff home run to pitch seven strong innings and steer Colorado over Pittsburgh. Giants 2, Nationals 1: In Washington, taken out of the starting lineup, Aubrey Huff drew a bases-loaded walk as a pinch hitter to force home the go-ahead run as San Francisco pipped Washington. Padres 5, Dodgers 2: In Los Angeles, Will Venable scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the eighth inning as San Diego downed error-ridden Los Angeles. Astros 2, Brewers 1: In Houston, Jason Bourgeois singled home the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning to lift Houston over Milwaukee. Cubs 5, Diamondbacks 3: In Phoenix, Darwin Barney singled up the middle to score Geovany Soto in the top of the ninth inning and Chicago beat Arizona.
