RIYADH: The Ministry of Interior has expanded the list of offenses that will disqualify people from being issued driving licenses in the Kingdom. The Ministry of Interior amended Article 4.36 of the Traffic Regulations, which now reads: “An applicant for a public transport driving license and public works vehicle driving license should not have been convicted according to a judicial verdict of the crimes of manslaughter, violation of honor, financial crimes, drug abuse, smuggling, trafficking or possession – provided he has not been absolved of these crimes …” The law previously stated: “An applicant for a driving license of whatever type should not have been accused by a judicial verdict of drug abuse, manufacturing, smuggling, trafficking or possession, provided he has not been absolved of these crimes.”
