ending excavation work round-the-clock around Briman neighborhood is severly polluting the area, residents of the district have alleged. They have moved the Jeddah Mayoralty for either halting the quarries completely or at least installing dust filters. The residents said no filters have been installed despite the mayoralty's assurance in this regard two months ago. The dust is causing health problems to people in the area who have been for a log time complaining silently about the pollution. Bassam Jameel Akhdhar, member of the Municipal Council, said a field team has checked the area and met more than 200 residents. Their demands, including a radical solution, were recorded and studied. The demands will be soon submitted to the Mayoralty, he said. – Okaz __
