NEW DELHI: Danish ace Peter Gade and world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia Saturday set up a mouth-watering final in the Indian Open Super Series Badminton. Gade, the former All England champion and the third seed, swept aside Korea's Park Sung-hwan 21-15, 21-19 in the first semifinal to keep himself on course in the $200,000 event. Lee made short work of Hu Yun, the eighth seed from Hong Kong, racing to a 21-11, 21-15 victory in less than half an hour, underlining his recent dominance of the sport. The Malaysian said he was looking forward to the clash with Gade, having lost only once to the Dane in 11 previous encounters. “It is the first Super Series in India and I would like to win it,” said the two-time All England champion. “I am getting better and better in the tournament,” said Gade. In the women's singles, Thailand's Porntip Buranaprasertsuk outclassed Hong Kong's fourth seed Yip Pui Yin 21-13, 21-8 to book a place in her first Super Series final. The diminutive 19-year-old will take on Korean third seed Bae Youn-Joo, who was made to fight hard by her Japanese rival Sayaka Sato before carving out a 23-21, 15-21, 21-12 win. – Agence France
