MANILA: With their veterans slowed down by fatigue, the Barangay Ginebra Kings unleashed two rookie fireballs to stun the Talk N Text Tropang Texters, 108-106, Friday night, thus leveling the best-of-seven PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals at 1-1. Rookies John Wilson and Rob Labagala provided the fresh legs, the speed and the hustle to lead the Kings to a down-the-wire victory that had the thousands of pro-Ginebra fans screaming their hearts out at the jampacked Cuneta Astrodome. Wilson finished with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field while Labagala had 10 points. The two were later named as joint Players of the Game. The win snapped the Texters' 12-game winning streak and boosted the confidence of the Kings who were soundly beaten in Game 1 of the Finals, 102-83. The Kings and Texters will go for the crucial Game 3 win of the Finals which will be played in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province Sunday. In Friday's Game 2, the outcome of the match was in doubt until the final buzzer as the two bitter rivals engaged each other in a fierce relentless battle. Ginebra appeared to have the game in the bag after Mike Cortez sank two free throws that pushed the Kings' lead to seven, 108-101, with a minute left. But a three-pointer by Ranidel de Ocampo and a layup by Larry Fonacier cut Ginebra's lead to a basket, 108-106, with 20.8 seconds left.
