Saudi-XI, Pak Crescent, Fighters, Yanbu Youth win

XI, Pak Crescent, Young Fighters and Yanbu Youth scored wins in their respective matches in different divisions in the recently-initiated Prince Faisal Cup 2011 by Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah Cricket Association (YACA) here.
The association started the tournament under the patronage and sponsorship of Saudi Cricket Center (SCC). Twelve teams are participating in the tournament. They have been divided into two groups. Division-I comprises top six teams in the last tournament. They are: Al-Saudi-XI, Pak Crescent, Natpet, Punjab-XI, Jotun Paints and Cristal. The Division-II teams are: Kashmir-XI, Young Fighters, Royal Commission, Yanbu Youth, Al-Kabbani-XI and Pak Green. Akram Qureshi, YACA president, thanked the participating teams and wished them luck. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Saudi Cricket Center in the development of the sport at domestic level.
In the first match of Division-I Saudi-XI thrashed Natpet by 10 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss Natpet scored 126 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 over. Pranab scored 36 runs, while Amir added 35. Dr. Amir claimed three wickets, while Abdullah Khan, Ali and Afzal took a wicket each for Saudi-XI. In reply Saudi-XI reached their target in 12.3 overs without losing a wicket. Ejaz and Abbas played explosive knocks and remained unbeaten on 63 and 60 respectively.
In the second match of Division–I, Pak Crescent beat Cristal by 67 runs. Put into bat Pak Crescent scored 196-7 and then bowled out Cristal for 129. Riyaz Khan and Sarfraz scored 35 and 31 runs respectively while Shomail played a cameo innings of 31 not out. Sibi claimed three wickets, while Naseem bagged two. Cristal in reply was bundled out in 19.1 overs. Naseem scored 29 and Ahmadullah 27 runs. Aqib, Kamran, Mustafa and Sarfraz took two wickets each for Pak Crescent. Sarfraz was named the man of the match for his all-round performance.
In Division–II action, Young Fighters beat Kashmir-XI by two runs. Batting first Young Fighter Scored 185-4. Naveed scored 120 runs. Javed Mirza claimed two wickets. Kashmir-XI in reply was bowled out for 183 in 19.1 overs. Khizar scored 61 runs, while Zaheer added 37. Zia Asmat and Naveed took two wickets each. Naveed was declared the man of the match.
In another Division-II match, Yanbu Youth beat RC by two wickets. Put into bat RC scored 117-9. Senaka scored 38 runs, while Basim picked up five wickets for Yanbu Youth. In reply Yanbu Youth reached their target in 19th for the loss of eight wickets. Sudheer was the top scorer with 25 runs. Patel picked up three wickets while Touseef and Seneka claimed two wickets apiece. __
