JEDDAH: Zultec desperate to advance to the last four thrashed Dopco Stars by 87 runs, while My Care Hala downed Usman Gems by three wickets to reach the semifinals as the Prince Faisal Premier and Afternoon tournaments entered the knock-out stage.
Usman Gems, batting first, was bundled out for 223 as My Care Hala reached 225 for the loss of seven wickets.
Amer Sajjad scored 102 off 74 balls, while Akram made 44 and Rashid Malik 34 for Usman Gems. Arshad sliced through the Usman Gems lineup to take 6-43 as Waqas bagged 2-31. In reply My Care Hala was home in 26.4 overs. Kashif scored 125 off 76 balls and Rahat made 21. Ikhlaque bagged 2-13 and Kashan 2-47 for Usman Gems.
Zultec playing its last league match against Dopco plundered 317-8 in the 40 overs as Abdullah Essa blasted 88, while skipper Anis Malik made 62 and Ajmal hit 70. Shahbaz took three wickets as Khurram and Shoeb bagged a wicket each. Dopco in reply was bowled out for 230 as Shoeb made 60. Kalid Iqbal and Usman scalped three wickets each as Ajmal bagged two. With this win Zultec qualified for the semifinals along with AOT Sonex, My Care and Hala and Crown Steel.
The last two matches in the Afternoon Cup were also played on the day. Usman Gems Warrior thrashed Zultrack by 85 runs, while Jotun Paints downed My care Srilanakans by five wickets.
Usman Gems Warrior racked up 215-7 through Amjad making 69, Aleem 41, Nadim 30 and Talha 29. Arif Kahn grabbed 3-43 and Subail 2-30. Zultrack was in trouble from the start with only Imaad (50) standing his ground. Once he was removed Zultrack innings folded for 130, thus losing by 85 runs. Usman, Zafaran and Zafar took two wickets each for 7, 15 and 17 runs, respectively.
Jotun Paints scored the required target of 161 for the loss of five wickets to beat My Care Srilankan United comfortably. In the Morning session ATS, My Care Green, GGI, Usman Gems Blue and Crown White won their respective matches.
Crown White plundered 254-2 in 18 overs against Budget as Adnan smashed an unbeaten 100 off 44 balls. He added a record unbroken 202 runs for the third wicket with Zakariya Al-Nadwi (83 not out). Budget in reply crumbled for 69 runs, thus losing by 185 runs as Iftikhar took 3-17, Inzar 2-5 and Sadaqat 2-24.
Hala International School put up 176-8 against GGI as Umer 43, Owais 35 and Salman 35 were the main run-scorers. GGI in response achieved 179-4 through Dr. Basheer making 45 and Shariq 42 as Ahmed took 2-31.
In the other match Fuchs Hamrani batting against Usman Gems Blue scored 157-8 through Abdul Jabber making 43 and Pervaiz 23. Abdul Rauf grabbed four wickets for 24 runs and Kashif took 3-36. Usman Gems Blue was home 158-5 as Zahid hit 37, Fakar 26 and Ashraf 23. Irfan of Hamrani took 3
