Committee monitors Saudization violationsin the private sector

party committee is working hard to scrutinize and verify jobs registered in the records of training, social insurance and labor offices – after violations by some private sector companies and establishments, officials said.
Some of the violations involved financial and administrative corruption, illicit earnings and willful ignorance of official regulations.
Members of the group are: the Ministry of Labor, Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) and chambers of commerce and industry.
They have been told about violations by private sector enterprises that seek to circumvent Saudization regulations and directives by keeping names of Saudi employees registered at GOSI even after their resignation or termination, officials said.
A larger violation involved paying meager salaries, some of which did not exceed SR2,000, even though GOSI records showed they were receiving more than SR4,000.
This was done to benefit from Hadaf support without giving the employees what they were entitled to.
An official source at the Joint Training Programs Unit at TVTC said several cases have been discovered in which youths were trained with the intention of employing them, but when their contracts were sent to GOSI, it turned out that they were registered by companies that did not employ them.
The same sources said in some cases, those companies claimed the trainees' data was entered before they completed the training periods, but they ended up leaving the program and seeking jobs elsewhere, without notifying the company.
Meanwhile, Omar Awadh Al-Ahmadi, Director of GOSI branch in Madina Region, said the registration of employees at GOSI or removing them from the records is conducted by employers, through electronic services.
Verifying contracts and ensuring that they are genuine comes under the jurisdiction of the Labor Office and violations are entirely the employer's responsibility, he added.
