Youbi, Undersecretary of King Abdulaziz University for Educational Affairs, has promised staff employed on self-financing contract terms that they will be paid two additional salaries “in the next few days”. The move, if carried through, would follow the example of other universities in the country which chose to match the double-salary one-off payment ordered for state employees in the Royal Decrees announced in March. Al-Youbi's statement, however, conflicts with the view of Adnan Al-Mazrou', the university's Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, who had said Monday that under the decree only permanent staff in official positions are entitled to the extra salaries.
