In what is seen as a boost to tourism in Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia currently from Jeddah to Jakarta daily. Total of 11 flights per week with seven non-stop flights to Jakarta and four other flights via Riyadh are intended to cater to rising demand for air services in the Kingdom especially the leisure market to Far East. Around 4.5 million Saudi tourists spend their holiday abroad yearly where Far East is becoming the most favored destination among them according to a report from local newspaper. With strong network to Australia and China, the existing flights between Jeddah and Jakarta depart as GA981 at 2000 hours and arrive in Jakarta at 0945 the next day which operate daily from Monday to Sunday. The other flights which fly thru Riyadh is GA985, departing Jeddah at 1430 hrs and arriving in Jakarta at 0555 the next morning on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. All flights offer to the leisure travelers its wide array of in-flight service and exceptional hospitality in flight safety standards that are internationally recognized like the one recently achieved from IATA. Garuda has successfully completed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and has been added to the IOSA Registry. The IOSA program is the first global standard to include eight major aspect of an airline's ability to deliver as safe operation: organization and management, flight operations, operational control and flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operation, aircraft ground handling, cargo operations, and operational security. These eight sections comprise more than 900 standards that an airline is audited to, and in order to achieve IOSA Registration, the airline must satisfy them all.
