ARDYIA/DAMMAM/JEDDAH: Municipal Council candidates have been seen chasing after voters at polling centers in east Taif areas of Dhulum, Al-Moyia and Umm Al-Doum. Some of the candidates were even asking to see the registration forms of voters and asking them to guarantee their support. Knowledgeable sources revealed that the Elections General Committee excluded 60 people in east Taif because they were below the legal voting age. A total of 170 voters registered their names in Dhulum, 152 in Umm Al-Doum and 155 in Al-Moyia. A further 1,000 voters updated their data. Ahmad Al-Qerni, head of the polling station in Al-Ardyia Al-Junoubyia, said aged people have been keen to register their names and take part in the elections. Many had taken part in the 2005 elections and had come to update their data. He urged the citizens to follow election rules, register their names and cast their votes to make the elections a success. Ameen Bin Abdul Gadier, Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Elections Committee in Bahra, toured the polling center in Bahra. He said only two citizens had registered for voting.
