RIYADH: An exhibition of the works of dozens of contemporary Saudi and Indian women artists is opening at the National Museum in Riyadh on April 30. Held by the National Museum's Consultative Commission in conjunction with the Indian Embassy, “Women in Art: Reflections” involves 36 Saudi and 18 Indian women and their art, as organizers seek to “develop the creative works of Saudis by displaying outstanding examples of cultural contributions from other countries”. The art on display ranges from paintings and drawings to sculpture, photography and digital art, and will be open to the public for five weeks. Princess Adela Bint Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the National Museum's Consultative Commission, said that a press conference would be held at the National Museum Tuesday with the wife of the Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Suneeta Ahmad, while the day after the exhibition is opened a lecture will be given on “75 years of Contemporary Indian Art”.
