JEDDAH: Prince Mish'al Bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah, opened the 20th Saudi Building International Exhibition (SBIE) Monday at the Jeddah Exhibition Center. Around 200 Saudi and non-Saudi companies are participating in the four-day exhibition focusing on building, construction, refrigeration, ventilation, air conditioning, heating, safety, security and fire prevention. Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of Al-Harithy Exhibition Company, said there has been a noticeable increase in visitors and participants, including a number of companies from China and Turkey. There were also a large number of invited builders, contractors, architects and designers on the first day. Siddique said it is hoped that there would be a number of deals signed between participants. A total of 80 companies from Malaysia, France, Germany, Pakistan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and China are participating in the exhibition. Last year's show attracted 25,000 visitors including businessmen, traders and diplomats. The event is open from 5 P.M. to 10 P.M.
