One man was killed and two others were injured in clashes between supporters and opponents of South Korea's POSCO planned steel plant in an east Indian village, police said on Saturday. It is the first death caused by the protests since some local people began opposing the $12-billion in Orissa, largest foreign investment in India, after it was announced three years ago. The man was killed on Friday when around 150 supporters and 300 opponents attacked each other with swords in Gobindpur, a village divided between those looking forward to jobs, and those angry at having to give up land.
