BAUCHI: Authorities in northern Nigeria say at least 11 recent college graduates who helped run polling stations have been killed in violence since the presidential election. Police Commissioner Amana John Abakasanga on Sunday also confirmed female volunteers had been raped in Bauchi state, one of the areas in Nigeria's north where the April 16 presidential election sparked deadly riots. At least four of the young poll workers were killed in Bauchi when an angry mob locked them inside their youth hostel and set it ablaze.
