RIYADH: Princess Hussa Bint Trad Al-Shalan, wife of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is scheduled to patronize the second anniversary of the launch of the Home Medicine Program Tuesday evening at King Saud Medical City in Riyadh. The program, run by the Ministry of Health, has already benefited 7,000 patients. Dr. Khaled Marghalani, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said the Princess supports several social and health activities in her capacity as Chairwoman of the National Philanthropic Society for Home Health Care. He said the ministry introduced the Home Medical Program service with the generous support of the government. The program has been designed to provide medical services for patients in their homes, which help them feel safe. Being psychologically comfortable contributes to their rapid recovery. There is also less chance of patients getting infections which might occur from using medical devices during long stays in hospital.
