DAMMAM: The Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Fund for Women's Development has launched the “Tamkeen” Program to help women manage their lives and take effective decisions. The fund has also changed its name. Hana Al-Zuhair, Deputy Secretary General of the fund said, “With the change of the name and launch of the new identity, there was coordination for a comprehensive development plan covering all programs, including supporting women's projects.” Al-Zuhair said plans are also under way to hold a forum on women's development in October, at a date to be announced later. Al-Zuhair pointed out that the “Tamkeen” Program will have international instructors. This will ensure each woman gets high quality specialist training to develop her skills and get control over her life. This is the first time the course has been offered. The program takes place over two consecutive months. The last course will be held in June. The program started on April 17, 2011. The program has training portfolios on how to assist women control their environment, how they can have a positive effect on those around them and enlighten them on their role and importance. The training also includes polishing and enriching their skills and boosting their self-confidence. Marwa Abdul Jawad, Executive Director of the fund, said the fund had recently prepared a training program for women with highly efficient male and female trainers and had selected a set of top quality training courses especially for women. These training courses functioned in an integrated fashion to develop women's administrative, social and leadership capabilities while focusing on the practical, applied aspects of each course. She said flexibility was built into the program which allowed women to choose the number of courses they wanted to take.
