Published in The Saudi Gazette on 24 - 04 - 2011

NEW DELHI: Virender Sehwag and David Warner smashed 77 runs each as Delhi Daredevils recorded the first 200-plus total in this season's Indian Premier League for a 29-run win over Kings XI Punjab Saturday.
Sehwag and Man-of-the-Match Warner put on 146 for the opening wicket from only 11.4 overs. Daredevils hit 47 in the last three overs to finish with the Twenty20 competition's third highest total of 231-4 after being put in to bat.
Shaun Marsh hit a 46-ball 95 for Kings XI but the target was too much for the visitors who had won their previous three matches to emerge among the front runners in the 10-team competition. Kings XI finished at 202-6 off 20 overs.
It was Daredevils' second win of the season.
Sehwag returned to form in the IPL's 200th match, hammering eight fours and four sixes in his 35-ball knock and Warner struck seven fours and four sixes in his 48-ball innings. Sehwag slammed three successive sixes off David Hussey before he fell to the Australian spinner, caught at deep midwicket by Dinesh Karthik.
Warner was caught at long-on by Ryan Harris off Kumar but Venugopal Rao provided the finishing touches with a 15-ball 28 not out.
Kings XI captain Adam Gilchrist hit 42 after in-form Valthaty fell early for 14. Marsh smashed nine fours and six sixes to take his side to 184 in the 18th over before he was the fifth wicket to fall, caught by Sehwag at mid-off off South African fast bowler Morne Morkel.
On Sunday, Deccan Chargers play Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals take on Kochi Tuskers.
Score: Delhi Daredevils 231-4 (David Warner 77, Virender Sehwag 77, Venugopal Rao 28 n.o.). Kings XI Punjab 202-6 in 20 overs (Shaun Marsh 95, Adam Gilchrist 42, Ajit Agarkar 2
