JEDDAH: The city's two Pakistan International Schools made Under–15 Inter-School Cricket Tournament final an all-Pakistan affair after beating their rivals in the semifinals here last week. The Pakistan International School Jeddah - English Section beat DPS Al-Falah International School by eight wickets, while the Pakistan International School Jeddah — Aziziya handed Hala International School a 56-run thrashing at the WPCA Eskan grounds. The tournament is being sponsored by Johnson Controls and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA). The event ran for almost five weeks with five Jeddah schools in the fray. The first semifinal saw DPS Al-Falah opting to bat first but it crumbled for 56 runs in 10.4 overs. Sauleh bowled devastatingly to take five wickets for eight runs and Habeeb scalped 3-12. Furqan and Hamza picked up the remaining two wickets. Rayyan was the top-scorer for Al-Falah with 10 while PISJ-ES gave away 13 extras. PISJ-ES in response was home for the loss of two wickets in mere 40 balls. Opener Furqan Farooq remained unbeaten on 24 as Sauleh exhibited fine all-round performance by adding 13 with the bat. Jawwad picked up one wicket. In the other semifinal PISJ-Aziziya batting first against Hala International School piled up 144-6 in the allotted 16 overs. Hamza scored 40 off 28 balls as his illustrious partner Mudassar hit 26, Raja Omer 27, Saqlain 16 and Waseem 14. Abdul Rafay took 3-19, Umer Javed 2-27 and Ali Riyaz bagged one wicket for for Hala. In reply Hala could only score 88-9 thus losing the last match by 56 runs. Abdul Wasay scored 28, Areeb made 17 and Abdullah 11. Hala at one stage stood at 11-5. Omar Ghulam bagged 4-15, Mudassar 3-14, while Hamza and Saqlain grabbed a wicket each for PISJ. Earlier Hala international School made it to the semifinals beating Sri Lankan International School by nine wickets. SLIS made 98-9 and Hala achieved the target for the loss of one wicket in a mere 67 balls. __
