RIYADH: Polling stations across the country will be ready for voter registration Saturday, in preparation for the municipal council elections later this year. The registration process will last for 27 days. The registration process comes after the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs completed the necessary procedures for the elections. This includes preparing polling centers and publications explaining election rules, candidacy procedures and timetables. Citizens who want to register can do so throughout the week except Friday. The officers at the centers will work for five hours from Saturday to Wednesday after Asr prayers. On Thursday, the officers will also work for five hours, but only in the morning. In Taif the local committee has made the necessary arrangements for voter registration at 43 polling centers. In Baha, 17 polling centers are ready in the city and affiliated governorates. There are 49 polling centers in Qassim. In Jeddah, the local elections committee has seven constituencies, with 15 polling centers in the governorates.
