WASHINGTON: Jayson Werth homered and doubled to lead the Washington Nationals to a 7-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday in his first appearance against his former team since leaving as a free agent. Werth doubled to start a three-run fourth inning for the Nationals, then homered in the fifth to put Washington up 5-1. Werth signed a $126 million, seven-year contract with the Nationals in the offseason. Phillies fans in the stadium booed him each time he came up to bat or fielded a fly ball in right field during the game. Livan Hernandez (1-1) allowed one run on seven hits, struck out six and didn't walk a batter in 6 2-3 innings. Astros 11, Cubs 2: In Houston, Angel Sanchez tied a career high with four hits as the Astros romped to victory over Chicago. Brett Myers (1-0) allowed eight hits and one run in seven innings to improve his career record against Chicago to 11-3. Houston scored three runs off Cubs starter James Russell (1-1) in the first inning, two more in the second and built a 7-0 lead after Sanchez knocked in two runs with a single in the fourth. Giants 5, Dodgers 4: In San Francisco, Aaron Rowand tripled to lead off the seventh and scored the go-ahead run moments later on a wild pitch as San Francisco beat Los Angeles. Reds 8, Padres 2, 11 innings: In San Diego, Ryan Hanigan hit the go-ahead double and Drew Stubbs launched a three-run homer as Cincinnati scored six runs in the 11th inning to defeat San Diego. Diamondbacks 13, Cardinals 8: In Phoenix, Justin Upton and Juan Miranda each hit three-run homers and Chris Young added a two-run shot as Arizona topped St. Louis.
