JEDDAH: The World Center for Information and Communication and the Jeddah Regional Center for Climate, which has been designed to serve west Asia, was launched Tuesday, on the recommendation of the World Meteorological Organization. Prince Turki Bin Naser Bin Abdul Aziz, General President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection (PME) was expected to launch the bodies. PME is also scheduled to set up the Regional Center for Monitoring Drought and Early Alarms at PME's headquarters in Jeddah. The center functions under the umbrella of the World Meteorological Organization and Arab World League.
