ABHA: The Administrative Court in Asir has ordered Sarat Obaida Governorate to pay SR5,000 in compensation to a Saudi national Saeed Ali Al-Qahtani for his 10-day illegal detention Al-Qahtani was charged with illegally closing some streets around his house with earth dykes. After thorough probe, the municipality asked police to arrest Al-Qahtani as per the order from Emir's Office to detain whoever closes streets. The Administrative Court found no proof that Al-Qahtani closed the streets with the dykes. It also determined that Al-Qahtani was entitled to SR500 for each of the 10 days he spent in prison.
