About 50 people from eight countries are participating in the competition, which is being held under the sponsorship of the Arab Union for Sky Sports and the Saudi Aviation Club. “This event is organized with the aim to promote family entertainment and develop sports activities in the Kingdom other than football,” said Bader Al-Mohaissen, an organizer of the event. “It is our mission to produce family entertainment and sports activities for the whole family to enjoy, and also to develop an interest in youth to show their talent and take part in developing planes and flying objects. We want to enhance their talent and bring it in front of the world.” The event has something for everyone to enjoy and there is a separate area for families, Mohaissen said. There will be an air show in the evenings to entertain the public, with acrobatics, sky-diving, paragliding, parachuting and other shows, he added. The competition runs from 9 A.M. to noon and air show will be held from 3 to 6 P.M. “It is a very professional, international competition and we have brought a professional referee from England,” Mohaissen said.
