RIYADH: The Ministry of Higher Education has completed preparations for the Kingdom's participation as guest of honor in the Prague International Book Fair. In a meeting Sunday chaired by Khalid Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, it was disclosed that the Kingdom would display some 1,000 books, including new publications on the holy mosques in Makkah and Madina, the “Kiswa” cloth of the Ka'ba, and the Kingdom's academic and scientific international prizes. The Kingdom will also be represented at its stand displaying the works of Saudi artists and calligraphers, as well as its children's bookshop and a host of academic and cultural events involving Saudi and Czech intellectuals and researchers. The event, which runs from May 12 to 15, will also hear lectures on King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his work in promoting reading and the dialogue of civilizations.
