over Premier League Prince Faisal Cup Tournament saw a few high-scoring encounters as Crown Steel defeated My care and Hala, Dopco Stars had the last laugh against Mehmood Saeed and Nestle Milo downed Pak-XI, Alpha Srilankan humbled Zultrack, Safa Al-Bawadi beat AOT My Style and Jotun went down against Crown Blue in the Prince Faisal Afternoon Cup.
Mercedes Benz, Crown White and Al-Mazroi also won their matches in the Prince Faisal Morning Tournnament, which is sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center and organized by WPCA.
In the first Prince Faisal Premier Cup match Crown Steel beat My Care Hala by 79 runs. Batting first Crown Steel racked up 370-8 as Hammad Saeed plundered the Hala bowling to hit 152 off 87 balls (4 sixes and 14 fours). He was supported by Hussain Bhatti (43), Kamran (42), and Abid (31). Yassir took 2-56 and Mohsin 2-76.
My Care Hala in reply looked like in the hunt as pinch-hitter Kashif (91) put on 131 for the first wicket with Khurram (60) in 12 overs. My Care Hala, however, suddenly lost a number of wickets to be restricted to 291-8. Ijaz took 4-39 and Hussain Bhatti 2-53.
The other match saw Dopco Stars beat Mehmood Saeed by five wickets. Mehmood Saeed batting first piled up 329-6 as Wajahat blasted 88 adding 152 runs for the first wicket with Zubaid (72). Farooq remained unbeaten on 67 as Ghayour added 48. Hashan scalped 2-33 and Javed 2-45. In reply Dopco achieved the winning target of 331 for 5 in 35.5 overs. Skipper Shoeb Ali remained unbeaten on 136 as he added 111 runs for the second wicket with Nadeem who made 86. Khurram added 29. Wajahat grabbed 2-74 for Mehmood Saeed.
Afternoon Cup
In the Prince Faisal Afternoon Cup Nestle Milo beat Pak-XI by 61 runs. Taking the strike first Nestle Milo openers hit centuries as Awaiz scored 100 off 50 balls and Hassan remained unbeaten on 108. They scored 206 runs for the first wicket as the team piled up 225 runs for 1 in 18 overs. Pak-XI in reply was bowled out for 164 as Awaiz picked up five wickets for 24.
Crown Blue in another encounter beat Jotun Paints by three wickets. Batting first Jotun Paints put up 170-9 with Shafiq making 51 and Shareef 34. Zubair took 2-18, Sajjad 2-29 and Murtuza 2-48. Crown Blue remained undefeated by achieving the target of 173 for the loss of seven wickets. Anwar hit 64 and Murtuza 43. Imran bagged 3-33 and Atta 2-15.
In another match Safa Al-Bawadi downed AOT My Style by 76 runs. Safa Al-Bawadi hit 235-3 thanks to Kashif, who hit 115, and Iqbal, who remained unbeaten on 51. AOT My Style responding to this huge total was restricted to 159-7 as Naseer took 4-35. Majid hit 52 off 20 deliveries.
Another tie saw Alpha Sri Lankans down Zultrak by seven wickets. Zultrack batting first was bundled out for 97 as Fazlan bagged 2-18 and Prakash 2-15. Alpha was home for the loss of three wickets. Mushtaq remained unbeaten on 42 and Mazhar made 36.
Morning Cup
In Prince Faisal Morning Cup encounters Mercedes beat Fuchs Hamrani by four wickets. Taking the strike first Fuchs hit 142-9 with Jabbar scoring 41 and Prawaz 37 not out. Ilyas bagged 4-27, while Zulfikhar and Sohail took two wickets each. Mercedes in reply reached 144-6 as Osama scored 53 despite Irfan's devastating spell of 5-25.
Another match in the cup saw Al-Mazroi beat Otex by 59 runs. Al-Mazroi scored 168-6 as Faruk hit 53 and Faizan 36. For Otex Irfan, Amjad and Asad took two wickets each. Otex in reply crumbled to 109 as Khalil Dawood grabbed 4-9, while Faisal and Sufyan took two wickets each.
Crown White, meanwhile, beat My Care Green by nine wickets as Abbas blasted 71 off 30 balls as Nadeem remained not out on 45 to get to the winning target of 130 for the loss of one wicket. My Care Green was bowled out for 129 as Kamran took 3-17, while Adeel and Javed took two wickets each. Adalat made 25. __
