RIYADH: A delegation from the Shoura Council left Friday for the United States on an official visit, said Osama Bin Muhammad Makkai Al-Kurdi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Saudi American Friendship Committee at the Council. Al-Kurdi, who leads the delegation, said the visit is to boost parliamentary relations between the Shoura Council and the American Congress. He said the visit is evidence of the strategic cooperation between the countries at all levels and will help to further strengthen relations. It also offers a unique opportunity for the Shoura Council members to meet with members of Congress and civil society institutions. He said the visit will benefit the Kingdom, Gulf Cooperation Countries, Islamic and Arab countries, and in particular the Palestinians. He said the Kingdom plays a substantial role in ensuring peace, stability and justice in the region and the world. He said the two countries' leaders have always been keen to boost the historic relations between the two countries. The delegation includes Dr. Saud Bin Humaid Al-Subai'i, Dr. Abdullah Bin Yahyia Bukhari, Engineer Abdullah Al-Quahis, Khalifa Bin Ahmad Al-Dawsiri, Dr. Mazen Bin Fouad Khyyat, and Dr. Mai Bint Abdul Aziz Al-Isa, an advisor at the Shoura Council. They are all members of the Saudi American Friendship Committee.
