Enizi says her wish is to give a belt she invented to King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, as a present. The school student, whose invention got her to the semifinals at the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Ebda'a), said she was very happy to get that far. “My happiness will be complete if I could give it as a present to our dear father King Abdullah, because I had the idea when I learned that he suffered from a herniated disc,” she said. “That made me sad and prompted me to research the disease, the reasons for it, its symptoms and how to treat it.” The Madina resident said she learned that one cause of a herniated disc is the back moving incorrectly. “So I invented a belt that has batteries and gives an alert when the person wearing it moves his/her back in the wrong way,” she said. “This way, a person would get used to correct bending, which is done by depending on the knees, not the back.” Al-Enizi said her belt was tested at King Fahd Hospital and the Saudi German Hospital, under the supervision of specialists.
