ORLANDO: Britain's Martin Laird regained his composure after making successive bogeys to head into Sunday's final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a two-shot lead. The Scotsman wobbled with bogeys on the 14th and 15th but recovered to birdie the next hole and finish the day with a two-under 70 and a 54-hole total of 11-under par. Spencer Levin of the US ended the round in outright second place, two behind Laird, after shooting 71. Levin briefly shared the lead with Laird but made successive bogeys on the 15th and 16th holes to slip behind. Americans Bubba Watson (68) and Steve Marino (71) were tied for third place, four shots behind Laird, who was searching for just his second PGA Tour victory but has nine players within six strokes of him. Tiger Woods' hopes of a seventh win at Bay Hill were effectively sunk when he twice found the water in a disappointing round of 74, leaving him 10 strokes behind Laird. Shin leads Kia Classic Second-ranked Jiyai Shin shot a 3-under 70 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over Sandra Gal after the third round of the Kia Classic in California. Shin, the South Korean star who has eight LPGA Tour victories, had a 15-under 204 total on the Industry Hills Golf Club course at Pacific Palms. Gal, from Germany, also shot a 70. South Korea's Na Yeon Choi was third after a 65, the best score of the round. Michelle Wie shot a 71, leaving her in a tie for eighth at 5 under. Returning to the tour after finishing exams at Stanford, Wie had five birdies and three bogeys in the round. Lawrie ends long trophy drought Former British Open champion Paul Lawrie ended a nine-year winless run on the European Tour with a one-shot victory in the Andalucia Open Sunday. A level par final round 70 enabled the 42-year-old Scotsman to finish the day as he had started it, at 12-under par and one shot ahead of his rivals. Lawrie, who won the 1999 British Open at Carnoustie, punched the air in delight after sinking a six-inch putt. Swede Johan Edfors shot a closing 68 to finish in second place with Chile's Felipe Aguilar a stroke further back in third after a 68. England's Ken Ferrie, who on Saturday became only the 15th player to shoot a 60 on the European Tour, finished tied 11th after a closing 75.
