AOT Sonex breaks record in WPCA

JEDDAH: AOT Sonex created a record of sorts here by posting totals of 400 plus in three different matches in this tournament and forced Usman Gems to bite the dust by a huge 360 runs.
Crown Steel had the last laugh against Zultec in the 40 overs Premier League. Al Safri, Crown Blues, AMI and Alpha Srilankans won their respective matches in the Afternoon T20 while My Care White, Budget and Hala Int'l School emerged winners in the Morning T20 here at WPCA.
All the three Tournaments organized and managed by WPCA and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center will be called as Prince Faisal Cup in 40 overs one-day and T20 formats.
Prince Faisal 40 overs
Premier Cup
AOT Sonex opting to bat against Usman Gems powered to 147 in just 10 overs as Faisal scored a hundred in just 48 balls studded with 3 sixes and 12 fours. His partner Ilyas blasted 114 in 70 balls with 4 sixes and 12 hits to the fence. Later Faiq Habib made 65 in 39 balls (8 fours and 2 sixes) followed by Naeem Shah who raced to 77 off 43 balls to lift their team to 438-6 in the allotted 40 overs. Akram got 2 wickets. Usman Gems crumbled to 78 as Qaiser who scalped 4-31 and Kashif with 3-38 totally humbled the Gems.
In the other match Zultec was all out for 259 against Crown Steel as Jawwad stroked 92 in 84 balls, Gazzafi made 46 and Ajmal got 51. Zaheer (4-49), Shafeeq (2-40) and Hussain Bhatti (2-56) restricted the opponents. Crown Steel, in response, lost wickets early but Abid held his end to make 109 off 76 balls with 14 fours and a six and Hussain Bhatti kept his cool after Abid's departure to make 25 to get to the winning target of 260-8 in 38 overs. Khalid Iqbal took 3-32 and Yusuf 3-62 for Zultec.
Prince Faisal Afternoon Cup
Al-Safri batted first against United CC to post 182-6 as Shoeb made 53 and Rehan 31. Ehab had 2-29 for UCC. United, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals to be stranded at 177-9 thus losing by a slender margin of 5 runs as Tauseef grabbed 4-33 and Waseeq took 3-21 to win the match. Nasir 30 and Irfan 27 were main scorers.
Usman Gems Warriors batted pathetically against Alpha Srilankans to be bowled out for 106 as Talha made 23. Mazhar, Fazlan and Zameem took 2 wickets each for 15, 21 and 33 runs respectively. Alpha Srilankans were home with 107-4 in 92 balls as Mushtaq made 28. Amjad had 2-20 for Warriors. AMI racked up 204-4 in the allotted 18 overs against Elaf Engineering through Rafi Gujjar who hit 6 huge sixes and 7 fours to compile 79 off just 35 balls and Emad added 63 in 38 balls.
Qamar scalped 2-44. Elaf Engineering, in reply, was bundled out for 159. Shahnawaz hit 44 and Aijaz 37. Najam Uzbak grabbed 3-26, Rafi took 2-39 and Mani got 2-10 to win by 45 runs.
Crown Blue defended its tally of 150-5 against My Care Srilankans United as Saleem hit an unbeaten 54 off 21 balls and Zubair 28. Imran had 2-32 and Rumesh 2-46. My Care United was bundled out for 104 as Murtuza took 2-26.

Hala Int'l School restricted Jeddah Lords to 129-8. Irfan made 32 and Farhan 30.
Iqbal took 2-25. Hala School, in reply, raced to 130-3 in 13 overs. Akram blasted unbeaten 89 in 53 balls with 3 sixes and 8 fours.
Johnson Control batting against My Care White succumbed to 67 all out as Furkan bowled devastatingly to snatch 6 wickets for 6 runs in 3 overs. Only Qaiser Amin made 27. My Care White achieved the winning target of 73
