Saudi Steel Profile tops Old Students

JEDDAH: Saudi Steel Profile (SSP) beat Old Students-XI in the lone match played in the fifth week of JCA Division-I which is sponsored by the ACE Travels & Tours.
Batting first, Old Students-XI made 192-6 in the allotted 18 overs against Saudi Steel Profile. Openers Usman and Shahid went cheaply for 1 and 7 runs respectively. Tauseef 20, Jehanzeb 31 and veteran Zaheer Peeran 32 and young Hamid Bakth 40 were the main scorers. Young Hamza Zain and veteran left-arm spinner Shahid took 2 wickets each while medium pacers Abdul Rauf and Zain got one each.
In reply, SSP reached 193-3 in 15 overs. Openers Zain Ul Huda 21 and Farhan 24 gave a good start. One down Nabil Hussain utilized the foundation laid by the openers by making an unbeaten fifty.
Rana Shahzad hit a quickfire 47from 15 balls while Saudi Steel Profile skipper Zain Al-Salikeen applied the finishing touch with 36. Swing bowler Hamid Bakth, Zaheer Peeran and Jagho claimed one wicket each.
Saliheen stuns BTC
in Division-II
Saliheen Cricketers stunned a strong BTC by 14 runs, Young Athletes lost to a fighting KAIA while Sigma Paints won by six wickets against ALJ in the 8th week matches of JCA Division-II, which is sponsored by Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ).
Saliheen made 197-8 in the allotted 18 overs against BTC. Opening batsman Imran Butt made 54 and Amjad Siddiqui hit a match-winning 85 not out. Amjad Junior cracked 16. Moin took 4-48 and Obaid Ur Rehman 2-49.
In reply, BTC lost three quick wickets for no run. Abdul Rehman stood firm to hit 80, Obaid Ur Rehman made 43 and Anwar 34. Amer had a flattering figures of 4-22 and Irfan Butt had 2-47.
KAIA scored 153-6 against Young Athletes.
Highest scorer Tanveer 41 was followed by Yassir 20, Shoukath 20 and Sabir 15 not out. Ismail claimed 2-28, Zakir 2-16, Altaf 1-16 and Khalil 1-5.
In reply, Young Athletes slumped to 104. Shair made 20, Shad Mohammad Khan 17 and Zakir 17. Zeeshan claimed 3 wickets, Sabir two and Imran one.
ALJ made 129-6 against Sigma Paints. While Tanveer made 50 wickets were falling at the other end. Others who performed with the bat were skipper Naeem Khan 17, Adil 15, Vijay 12 and Hamza 9.
Tabassum had 2 wickets while Saleem, Tabassum Junior and Zaheer got one wicket each.
In reply, Sigma Paints reached 130-4 through Arbab 34, Shahid 33, Asif Senior 12 and Anees 11. Mudassir claimed two wickets while Sheeraz got one.
