President Pervez Musharraf's portrait has been removed from Governor House of Punjab. Lawyers from the People's Lawyers Forum belonging to the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), during a meeting with PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the Darbar Hall of Governor House, saw Musharraf's picture hanging alongside the portrait of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and demanded its removal. The portrait, which had been hanging on the wall for eight years, was immediately removed. As per the official protocol, the portraits of the sitting president and the prime minister are displayed in the governor house of all the four provinces, Pakistan's foreign missions abroad and several other government offices. They are provided by the government to have uniformity.
