JEDDAH: The Rezidor Hotel Group in the Kingdom will participate in “Earth Hour,” a lights-out environmental initiatives supported by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Saturday (March 26) from 8:20 P.M. to 9:30 P.M., company officials said. The decision is “in line with the Rezidor Hotel Group responsible business program, which is the core of the company's social and environmental concern” and thrust to create positive impact on humanitarian deeds. Guests at the Raddisson Blu Hotels in Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu, Madina and Park Inn Radisson in Al-Khobar are invited to a cocktail reception during the Earth Hour. All employees are also encouraged to participate at home “and make this change a part of their everyday life through activities like using energy-saving life bulbs, turning appliances off, unplugging charges when not in use, among others. “Earth Hour is an excellent opportunity to highlight and support our company-wide responsible business program,” said Mohamed Benamar, District Director for Saudi Arabia and General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Riyadh. “Our company is committed to responsible business having a long history of innovative hospitality with ‘Yes I Can!' service philosophy,” he said. “Our main areas of focus on responsible business are ... health safety and well-being of our employees and guests, respecting and promoting social and ethical issues in the company, as well as in the community and reducing negative impact on the environment.”
