Sabitha Rahim Lecturer, English Language Institute King Abdulaziz University Jeddah I believe that internships help students to become responsible in life as nothing can beat the practical hands on experience that teaches one the lessons of life. It enhances but doesn't substitute the college education. Every job is an experience, a challenge that helps one to grow and mature in order to become a better and successful person and so the earlier you start, the better the benefits are. You have a head start in life and you see life with more clarity! n Birendra Kumar Sharma MBA student and counselor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Jeddah NO matter how difficult it has been to achieve my MBA Degree, along with fulfilling some unconditional commitments, the outcome and eternal satisfaction is great. I started my MBA in 2006 and completed it last year. During this journey, I have learned how to manage my time in the best way, to think positively and to use my professional skills in practice. Counseling is my hobby, and I always try to spare some time in spite of my busy schedule to get into it. Distance education is quite beneficial for students who want to learn while they are earning and it can give them the best to achieve in their practical life. I always believe that success is a reflection of efforts, dedication and self determination, no matter whether you have all the available resources or not. n Mohammed Faridul Alam MBA student at IGNOU Associative Investment Officer, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Jeddah I had to start working when I was young, breaking up my studies because of economic hardship soon after completing my Diploma in Commerce (10+2 yrs) in Bangladesh. I tried to pursue a bachelors degree but, for a variety of reasons, I could not. I am proud to be one of first batch students at IGNOU in Jeddah to pass the BPP and B.Com and I am currently studying for my MBA (Finance). While I was studying for my B.COM., my employer IDB employed me and provided on-the-job training to be part of their multi-billion dollar investment management team. After the completion of my degree, I was approved to work as Associate Investment Officer in the IDB Treasury. I am assured of more promotions once I complete my ongoing MBA. This proves that learning while you are earning adds to the potential in your practical life. n Farah Pasha B.A. (English) IGNOU Jeddah I'M a teacher by day and student by night. I am working as a Kindergarten teacher in the Indian International School Jeddah. Earning while learning makes me feel confident and financially independent. Imparting education has always been my dream and learning has always been a desire. Learning while earning is a challenging task but I enjoy each moment of it. It prepares one to walk on the road of success.
