RIYADH: The Kingdom has expressed its “utter condemnation” of the attack Friday on its diplomatic mission in northeastern Iran when, according to media reports, around 700 people stoned the Saudi consulate in the city of Mashhad. “The Iranian government is fully responsible for the protection of the Kingdom's diplomats on its territory, as stated by law and in international agreements,” a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday. The source said that the ministry had voiced its objections officially to the Iranian government. “The Kingdom will look at what steps to take in the light of the Iranian government's response,” he said.
