UEFA bans De Rossi

NYON, Switzerland: UEFA has banned AS Roma captain Daniele De Rossi for three matches after he struck Shakhtar Donetsk captain Dario Srna in the face during a Champions League match. UEFA's disciplinary panel sanctioned De Rossi Friday after he was charged with improper conduct. De Rossi will serve the ban in future Champions League or Europa League matches. He can appeal the punishment within three days. Shakhtar advanced to the quarterfinals 6-2 on aggregate.
