JEDDAH: The head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission has said he will make “every possible effort” to achieve the commission's goals and added that he was “grateful for the confidence the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has in me”. Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al-Shareef made the remarks in response to the announcement Friday of a series of Royal Decrees, one of the most prominent of which orders the establishment of the anti-corruption commission with Al-Shareef as its head with ministerial status. The commission is to report directly to King Abdullah. While the commission has been charged with identifying financial and administrative corruption and “exempting nobody, whoever they may be”, Al-Shareef was reticent about its specific tasks and the steps being taken to carry through the Royal Orders. “It's too early to talk about the subject,” he said.
