Capitals record ninth straight win

MONTREAL: Marcus Johansson scored his second goal of the game 6:43 into the third period and Mike Knuble added Washington's second power-play goal as the Capitals extended their winning streak to nine games with a 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens Tuesday.
Johansson, who also scored a power-play goal 1:06 into the game, took Alexander Ovechkin's centering pass and put a backhand shot past Carey Price for his 11th goal of the season to give Washington its third and final one-goal lead.
Knuble added an insurance goal with his 17th with 3:07 left in the third.
Braden Holtby, who was named the NHL's first star of the week on Monday, stopped 24 shots for his fifth straight win and Brooks Laich also scored for the Capitals.
Andrei Kostitsyn and Travis Moen scored, and Price made 37 saves for the Canadiens.
Sharks 6, Stars 3: At Dallas, Ryane Clowe scored the tiebreaker in the opening two minutes of the final period and Torrey Mitchell added an insurance goal 1:40 later as San Jose rallied to beat Dallas.
Dany Heatley and Joe Thornton had two goals each, including empty-netters in the final 1:08, and Joe Pavelski contributed four assists for the Sharks, 10-2-2 in their last 14 games.
Jamie Benn had a power play goal and two assists, Toby Petersen netted a short-handed goal, and Mike Ribeiro scored at even strength for Dallas.
Kings 4, Predators 2: At Nashville, Tennessee, Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown each had a goal and an assist as Los Angeles wrapped up the franchise's first sweep of a four-game road trip.
Penguins 5, Senators 1: At Ottawa, Tyler Kennedy and Jordan Staal each had a goal and an assist in Pittsburgh's win over Ottawa.
Bruins 3, Blue Jackets 2, SO: At Columbus, Ohio, Tuukka Rask stopped all three Columbus attempts and rookie Tyler Seguin scored the only shootout goal to end Boston's season-worst four-game losing streak.
Rask made 34 saves through overtime, and David Krejci and Rich Peverley. Grant Clitsome and Scottie Upshall scored for Columbus. Steve Mason made 27 saves.
Flyers 3, Panthers 2: At Sunrise, Florida, Jeff Carter scored two goals in the second period as Philadelphia beat Florida.
Rangers 6, Islanders 3: At New York, Bryan McCabe had a goal and an assist as the Rangers scored three times on a potent power play to win the latest New York-New York matchup.
Devils 4, Thrashers 2: At Newark, New Jersey, rookie Jacob Josefson scored early in the third period as New Jersey rallied from a two-goal deficit. Travis Zajac, Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk also scored for the Devils.
Coyotes 4, Flames 3: At Calgary, Alberta, Keith Yandle and Michal Rozsival scored 19 seconds apart early in the third period.
