DAMMAM: Local and regional establishments producing construction products received positive assurance from Zareb Al-Qahtani, Assistant Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, on the stability of the market. Al-Qahtani formally opened Sunday the 13th Saudi International Building and Construction Exhibition currently being held at the Dhahran International Exhibition Center. More than 100 companies producing a wide range of building materials are participating in the show. “I want to congratulate you on your presence in this exhibition; I want to assure you of the stability of our market,” Al-Qahtani told executives and representatives of companies taking part in the event during his tour of the exhibition. According to the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the value of building and construction projects is expected to reach over SR517 billion from 2009 to 2012, a positive development that should encourage the local construction and building sectors. During the next five years, the government is also reported to be investing over SR1,500 billion in infrastructure, mostly in residential housing. “There are many opportunities in our market for your sector,” Al-Qahtani assured participants in the exhibition.
