MANILA: The Barangay Ginebra Kings overwhelmed the Powerade Tigers, 107-92, Friday night for their second win in four games as they sent the Tigers crashing to their third straight loss and fourth overall in five outings in the PBA Commissioner's Cup. Nate Brumfield unloaded 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Kings to a rousing victory that pushed them alongside the idle B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados at fifth to sixth place in the rankings. The Tigers held the upper hand in the first quarter, but the Kings caught fire in the second quarter and put the game away in the third period. Ginebra dished out a balanced offense with Mark Caguioa contributing 14 points and five other Kings putting in at least seven points each. Powerade's Gary David scored 36 points but failed to get any support from his teammates, including their import Russell Carter who was held to a conference-low seven points. In the first match of the double-header played at the Araneta Coliseum, the Talk N Text Tropang Texters survived a scorching run by the Meralco Bolts at the homestretch to win 109-106.
