JEDDAH: Overtaken by EKIS team on the overall standings last week, Make My Day squarely battled its opponent to regain the league leadership on brilliant maneuver of team captain Bobby Baraquel and Jack Jarin who respectively totaled 638 and 642 to lead their team in outpointing Lance & 3rdy in the 13th week of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Friday Morning Bowling League 10th conference at the Bowling City here. Led by Jarin with 222 who got solid support from Baraquel, Leo Pangilinan, Obie Ycasas, Darwin Tumandao and Alona Antinero, Make My Day triumphed at 1,176-1,085 despite the 236 blocking of Lance & 3rdy's team head Ric Reformado on the initial salvo. But inspired by its previous success, Lance & 3rdy orchestrated a well-balanced game to get even at 1,155-1,141 with Ed Tuico tilling 211, Tito Cruz giving 203, Reformado sharing 189, Joey Calapatia dishing 190, Rey Beltran tossing 170 and team manager Evelyn Santoc pitching 192. Jarin and Baraquel scorched the lane once again to pilot Make My Day with a 260 and 228 which led them to an 1,192-1,141 endgame closing the match at 16-4 (3,509-3,381). Make My day with 303 computed points regained front seat from EKIS (293) when the latter was subdued by Shawly Bowlers at 16-4 (3,553-3,511). Shawly was offensively led by Luis Pacobas and Edison Arena with 656 and 629 while Jimmy Leonida and Zaldy Bacero tried defending EKIS with their 627 and 611. Five players of Sabban Electro Mechanical Co. scored 600 and up to once more snatch the City Restaurant Team of the Week honor at the expense of Gulf Oil to whom Joel Nidoy signed an 18-2 decision with Marlon Heredia. Sabban EMC collectively marked this round-ender match with its efforts of 3,706. Marcelo Manalo topped the board with 661. Underlining Sabban dominance were Noel Nebran (659), Edu Toledo (620), team manager Rudy Jamon (611), TC Nidoy (610) and Aisah Silabay (554). Jett Santos consoled Gulf Oil with his Bowler of the Week-winning score of 684 which mainly caused their 2-point evasion of an empty basket. Santos won the coveted honor by flashing games of 207, 247 and 230. Johnny Macalintal backed Santos up with 627. Evelyn Garcia emerged as the Lady Bowler of the Week with her 615 defense of J&J Bowling Idols. Garcia collected games of 216, 183 and 216 to comfort her team which was defeated by Micah's Pride at 16-4 (3,604-3,555) settlement. The Ester Santoc-captained Micah's Pride was led by stalwart Oca Bernabe with 662 and Bonnie Garcia with 640. Gerry Tano (630), Dennis Arevalo (626), and Mart Lising (600) also played solid defense with Evelyn Garcia for the Jowet Carreon
