RIYADH: The Ministry of Labor has distanced itself from recruitment offices that have stopped recruitment from certain countries because of disputes over prices. Hattab Bin Saleh Al-Onizi, Spokesman for the ministry and director of its public relations department, said the ministry does not intervene in prices. If private recruitment companies conclude that there is no benefit for them in dealing with their counterparts in certain countries and have stopped dealing with them, “then it is their business”, he said. The ministry would not stop recruiting from certain countries unless “it is necessary and for strong reasons”. It would not be just for the sake of local offices, he said. On recruitment fees, he said this is a matter to be determined by the market and the contract between the parties. “The ministry does not intervene in these matters,” he said. He said the ministry is continuing efforts to seek more sources for foreign recruitment.
