JEDDAH: The International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) has announced that it is to sponsor 2,000 orphans across the Kingdom. Adnan Basha, Secretary General of the IIRO said the move was to mark the return of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to the Kingdom after surgery and a period of convalescence abroad. “The IIRO receives the backing and help of King Abdullah as one of the supporting channels of the Kingdom, and pursues the path of humanitarian work with the grace of Allah and the backing of donators from the Saudi public through its programs and strategies put in place by the state in this field,” Basha said. “Our offices across the Kingdom will carry out the guardianship sponsor distribution to orphans in all regions.” He said that 340 guardianships would go to orphans in Jeddah, 300 in Asir, 240 in Riyadh, 180 in Madina and Jizan, 120 in Makkah, 80 in Al-Baha, Tabuk, Najran and Qassim, 60 in Yanbu and to the Humanitarian Committee in Jeddah, and 40 in Hail, Arar, Enaiza, Taif and Al
